Deputy MInistef Trinh Thi Thuy chaird the working session between MOCST and Vietnam National
Commission for UNESCO.

In the meeting, representatives of VNCU introduced several co-operation fields between MOCST and VNCU, at the same time pointing out a number of disadvantages in preservation and promotion of world heritages in Vietnam which are in need of orientation and solution. VNCU also presents numerous proposals, including consolidating the Cultural sub-committee and completing the Memory of the World Program etc.

Addressing at the meeting, Deputy Minister Trinh Thi Thuy highly appreciated the collaboration between MOCST and VNCU. She underlined that, UNESCO’s recognition of Vietnamese heritages is an honor not only for the local authorities but also the whole country. However, to solve the conflict between preserving heritages intactly and promoting heritages to meet the demands of socio-economic development - has been proved to be extremely difficult. VNCU has always been a close partner with MOCST in concerned issues in all localities. Thuy hoped that in future, the collaboration between MOCST and VNCU will be developed to satisfy UNESCO’s requirements, as well as efficiently preserving world heritages in Vietnam.
