Plan to prepare for 2nd ASEAN Graphic Arts Competition and Exhibition - Vietnam 2016

(Cinet) – On July 22, 2016, Deputy Minister Vuong Duy Bien signed Decision No.2611/QĐ-BVHTTDL on establishing the Council of Arts and the Serectariat of 2nd ASEAN Graphic Arts Competition and Exhibition - Vietnam 2016.

The 2nd ASEAN Graphic Arts Competition and Exhibition - Vietnam 2016 is an opportunity for Vietnamese and ASEAN artists to exchange experiences and showcase new works of print painting and graphic art. A competition for promoting understanding among member countries of ASEAN has been launched in Hanoi. 
The works should have themes about country and people in contemporary life, which strengthen the solidarity and friendship among the people and co-operation and development in art among the ASEAN countries.
Accordingly, the Council of Arts consists of 09 members. Painter Vi Kien Thanh, head of Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition keeps a chairman of the Council. Painter Le Huy Tiep, chairman of Council of Arts and Graphics, Viet Nam Fine Arts Association as vice-chairman of the Council.
The Arts Council is responsible for selecting some works to display exhibition and mark awards according the regualtion of the Organization Board.
The Secrectariat consists of 3 members. They will prepare for a working content and condition at the meeting of the Council.
The Council of Arts and the Secrectariat will self-remove after fulfilling the task.
 

The 2nd ASEAN Graphic Arts Competition and Exhibition - Vietnam 2016 will belongs to some works about country and people in contemporary life, which strengthen the solidarity and friendship among the people and co-operation and development in art among the ASEAN countries. All artists from ASEAN countries can upload photos of a maximum of two of their works to the competition website aseangraphicart.vn. The works must be dated between 2013 and March 2016. 

The Culture Ministry will award a first prize ; two second prizes ; three third prizes , and five consolation prizes. 
The award-winning works and other outstanding entries will be displayed at the Vietnam Museum of Fine Arts in December.
