(Cinet)- On June 8th, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Nguyen Ngoc Thien had a meeting with leaders of Ha Giang provincial People's Committee to direct the organization of the Second Mong (H’Mong) Ethnic Culture Festival in Ha Giang province in 2016.
The festival with the theme: "To preserve and promote the cultural identity of Mong people in the period of innovation, integration and development of the country" will be held before October 15th, 2016 as planned in Dong Van district, Ha Giang province and attract 17 localities with Mong ethnic communities.
The festival features a wide range of public cultural and art activities including a pan-pipe festival, a display of Mong traditional costumes, Mong folk song performances, and Mong ethnic cuisine; the performance and introduction of some extracts from the Festival, Mong ethinic ritual and traditional activities, an exhibition of Mong ethnic distinctive products, the re-imagination of the working life and productivity of Mong ethnic people.
The Minister requested that essential activities held in the festival have unique contents, rich, suitable and artistic forms, include many new features to meet the creative needs and public enjoyment. In particular, the festival shows typical cultural features, traditional sports, folk games of H’Mong ethnic people, highlighting the role of cultural actors and increasing traditional cultural values associated with progressive elements of the ages.
