(Cinet)- Settled off the coast of Binh Thuan and being far from Phan Thiet city about 120 kilometers, Phu Quy Island has been a charming island appealing who those are interested in package tour.
The tiny island has an area of only 16.4 kilometers square, but has been voted as one the most glamorous island over the world. Considered as a "museum" of whales on the island, Van Thanh An was built hundreds years ago. Visiting Van An Thanh, travelers will have the chance to see one of the largest whale skeleton in Vietnam with nearly 20 meters length.
The locals called whales as Hai Nam General. According to legend, whales had rescued fishermen and vessels many times. Hence, the locals on the island are very respectful whales and worship the whales as Guardian of fishermen as well as held annual festival for ritual the Whales.
