The seminar “Ton Duc Thang museum- a cultural address”

(Cinet)- On 18.8, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hochiminh city , the social institute and Ton Duc Thang museum held the practical scientific seminar “Ton Duc Thang museum – a cultural address”. This seminar is to help continue confirming the position, role of Ton Duc Thang museum in social, cultural life of Hochiminh city and the whole country , at the same time instructing new policies to meet the increasing demand of enjoying culture of the public on the ceremony day of 120 years of the birthday of Mr. Ton Duc Thang.

53 speeches were presented at the seminar, highly appreciating the lessons drawn from the revolutionary life and career of Chairman Mr. Ton Duc Thang. Beside lessons on industry and thrift, uprightness, the high spirit of worker layer and Vietnam trade union, some experts highly appreciated the method of organizing activities of Ton Duc Thang museum in recent 20 years.

There are many contributed ideas to the development orientation of the museum such as: wide spreading displays attached to collections, research of real objects on worker movements, trade union activities in the South, organizing activities on special subjects, students’ clubs to find out more about Uncle Ton…

With the display system having the area of 1.800m2 introducing 1.000 permanent real objects, currently, Ton Duc Thang Museum is a cultural address to help viewers to recognize the quiet cultural noble characters of Uncle Ton when he became vice president (1960) and the president (1969-1980), it is the  simple and economical features.
