(Cinet)- By 05:00 GMT on February 20, Viet Nam’s Ha Long Bay took the first place in the voting for seven new world wonders on New open world's Website www.new7wonders.com launched by the NewOpenWorld.
Ha Long BayThe Viet Nam Tourism Administration added that the website has also shown that the country’s two other beauty spots - the Phong Nha-Ke Bang grotto and Fansipan mountain – were selected as the fourth and fifth most favourites.
All the three sites of Viet Nam have always stood in the top-ten list of the voting among over 200 candidates from all parts of the world since the first phase of the voting kicked off in August 2007.
By February 17, Ha Long Bay surprisingly progressed to third position in the list.
The first phase will close in
The second phase will take between six and seven months to select 21 sites of the most votes while the third and final phase will name the best seven among the 21 candidates.
