MCST and United Nations: Signing a general Program document on gender equity

(Cinet) – From 2009-2011, the United Nations and some nations will support Vietnam in strengthening capacity of leaders at national, ministerial, provincial levels and relevant industries in the implementation, inspection, evaluation and efficient report executing Law on Gender Equity and Law on Family Violation Prevention and Treatment with a total budget of over 4,6 million dollars, of which Spanish Government sponsors 4,5 million dollars.

On March 19, in Hanoi, Deputy Minister of the MCST Huỳnh Vĩnh Ái – representative of the MCST joined the signing ceremony of the general Program document on gender equity between the United Nations and Vietnam. This program is cooperation among three agencies of Vietnam including Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, MCST and Ministry of Planning and Investment and other agencies in relation to organizations under the United Nations executing Law on Gender Equity and Law on Family Violation Prevention and Treatment. Therefore, from 2009 to 2011, the United Nations and some nations will support Vietnam in strengthening capacity of leaders at national, ministerial, provincial levels and relevant industries in the implementation, inspection, evaluation and efficient report executing Law on Gender Equity and Law on Family Violation Prevention and Treatment with a total budget of over 4,6 million dollars, of which Spanish Government sponsors 4,5 million dollars.

This general Program will make contribution to carry out the third Millennium Goal on strengthening gender equity and empower Vietnamese women.
