Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism worked in Can Tho province

(Cinet)- On 18th December, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Hoang Anh Tuan visited and worked in Can Tho province.

The Minister exchanged with Can Tho leaders on situations and measures to develop culture, sports, and tourism of Can Tho province. Culture, sports, and tourism industries clearly reported their specific activities in 2007 and upcoming plans. The Minister was especially interested in preparatory works for the 2008 National Tourist Year. Authoritative Divisions of Department of Tourism reported these works to the Minister.

The Minister directly visited some cultural and tourist destinations in the city; and inspected several schemes for the 2008 National Tourist Year. It is the first time the National Tourist Year has been held in Mekong river delta. However, its preparatory works are still in difficult and a major cause is due to limited expense. A member of Organizing Board said, “Despite those difficulties, the province has kept completing its tasks and wished a successful National Tourist Year.

To date, certain sources said,” Due to the current collapse of Can Tho bridge span, planned programs will possibly be changed”.
