(Cinet)- There hasn’t yet had any information on 345 million VND, which will give the Miss and the second winner. “In case if the Organising Board do not give the award for candidates, violation is very clear”, Pham Dinh Thang highlighed.

After the publication of two articles on the 2007 Jewellery Miss Contest, we have continuously received many letters of denunciation concerning the contest. In the letter of denunciation made by Vu Khac Tiep, Director of Ve Nu Fashion Co., Ltd verified the case of Phan Nhu Thao (a model of Ve Nu Company) who had been induced to buy the prize by a member of the Organising Board as reflected in HoChiMinh Law. This letter was also sent to Department of Performing Arts.

Keep “offering “ prizes

Miss Luu Thi Van Anh said, “she and two second winners come and meet the Organizing Board to get their salaries”. However, the Organizing Board said “It is waiting for approved documents of Department of Performing arts on the contents of explaining the test’ wrong problems. This means when the Organizing Board has approved documents, we get awards”. According to Van Anh, the Organizing Board announces everyone to prepare for tour. Truong Thuy Ha, Chief secretariat of the 2007 Jewellery Miss Contest, affirmed the travel tour to Thai Lan (lasting from 5-7 days) for the Miss and the second winner will still be held on 12th December as planned. With reference to the amount of 345 million VND, the Organising Board hasn’t officially given any ideas.

Pham Dinh Thang, Head of Department of Organising Management under the Department of Performing Arts, said paying prize money doesn’t concern explaining. Up to now, the Department of Performing Arts hasn’t yet ordered the Organising Board to explain or report anything and received another official statement from the Organising Board, except for the initial report...”. As known, the initial report was provided after receiving the complaint of Luong Van Hung (Executive Director of Vang Fashion Magazine and Consultant of the jury of two Jewellery Queen contests (now so-called Jewellery Miss) in 2003, 2005-PV), the Department had an official document to suggest the Organising Board reporting some related contents.

On 14th November (the final evening), the Department received an attached report with selected candidates’ tenders (copy) sent by the Organising Board. This report affirmed they haven’t yet discovered any violation cases.

Agencies’ official investigation.

As known, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism signed a decision on the establishment of a group of inspectors to investigate and clarify vague problems related to the 2007 Jewellery Miss Contest as commented in the last few years. Attending this group includes Department of Performing Arts, inspectors of Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and agency A25 – Ministry of Pulic Security. Based on Hung’s letter of duniciation, the group has carried out investigating issues such as violation in candidates’ tenders, prize buying and selling...“In case if the Organising Board do not give the award for candidates, violation is very clear”, Pham Dinh Thang highlighed.

Dao Trong Cuong, Commissioner of Vietnam Central Association of jewellery fine Arts, known as a member of the Jury in the 2003 jewellery Miss Contest said, “ I don’t like the 2007 jewellery Miss Contest because the Organising Board and two Juries of Jewellery and Beauty part are common. Donors are considered the Jury. I thinks if there is any unclear investigation on this problem, Vietnam Central Association of jewellery fine Arts will have a bad reputation. I have submitted a letter to Chairman of Vietnam Central Association of jewellery fine Arts on these mentioned issues.
